About TraMiS
The Transport Management Information System (TraMiS) is a robust system developed to manage and improve the transportation sector. It is built to cater for transporters, commuters, logistics and supply chain management professionals serving manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and other businesses.
The system, among other things, administers registration, application, inspection, and payment for commercial and private vehicle operations on a large scale throughout the state.
The Problem
We noticed a common challenge
The Nigerian Ministry of Transport has several issues in consolidating its operations and enhancing its efficiency due to:
- A lack of proper funding and budgetary allocation for the maintenance and upgrade of transportation infrastructure and services.
- Inadequate human resources and capacity building for transportation workers and stakeholders.
- Inadequate coordination and collaboration between the ministry’s many agencies and departments, as well as with other private organizations in the Transportation sector.
- A high prevalence of corruption, fraud, and mismanagement of funds and resources, resulting in waste and inefficiency.
- Low public awareness and participation in transportation policies, program development and implementation, among others.
