In today’s fast-evolving educational landscape, teachers need more than just traditional methods to stay ahead—they need technology-driven solutions that enhance their effectiveness and impact. Cinfores Limited, a leading IT firm based in Port Harcourt, has taken a bold step toward redefining teacher development with the launch of The TeachersHub (www.teachershub.com.ng), an innovative digital platform designed to support the continuous growth and professional advancement of educators at all levels.
More than just an e-learning platform; Teachershub is a comprehensive ecosystem that bridges the gap between conventional teaching methods and the demands of modern education. By leveraging technology, the platform provides educators with the tools, resources, and collaborative spaces they need to thrive in today’s digital-driven world.
On February 18, 2025, The TeachersHub was officially unveiled at the third edition of the Mandatory Teachers’ Training Programme on Educational Technology Adoption, held at Government Girls Secondary School, Rumuokwuta, Port Harcourt. The event was organized by the Rivers State Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Rivers State Chapter of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS).
During the launch, Dr. Ovy Chinedum Chukwuma, Commissioner for Education, Rivers State, emphasized the government’s commitment towards quality education and encouraged all teachers to embrace The TeachersHub as a tool for continuous professional development. He also outlined plans to onboard teachers and school administrators onto the platform, facilitating better communication, policy harmonization, and decision-making within the education sector. Adding that the platform will aid in evaluating existing school standards, ensuring that only government-certified institutions are onboarded.
As part of the training program, educators were introduced to technology-driven teaching methodologies. Key topics covered included: Learning Management Systems (LMS), Tech-Based Support for Learners with Special Needs, and Technology Integration in the Classroom.
Mr. Sunday Adafe-Jaja, Chairman of NAPPS Rivers State, highlighted the importance of equipping teachers with ICT skills to align with modern-day teaching practices. He further stated that the initiative marks a new era in school administration, ensuring that teachers are equipped with 21st-century skills to compete on a global scale.
Professor Esther Fomsi, a leading facilitator at the event and professor of Educational Technology at the University of Port Harcourt, stressed the importance of digital literacy among teachers, regardless of their age. She expressed concerns over the widening gap between digitally savvy students and teachers who lack technological proficiency, warning that this disparity could severely impact learning outcomes.
To address these challenges, Dr. Ella Gogo from Cinfores Limited highlighted that The TeachersHub was specifically designed to bridge this technological gap. She assured participants that the platform is highly effective in streamlining education management, lesson delivery, and teacher-student interactions. With real-time access to digital teaching resources, assessments, and administrative tools, educators can enhance their instructional practices and improve student engagement.
Beyond supporting teachers, The TeachersHub is also regarded as a revolutionary tool for school administrators, enabling efficient management of teacher records, tracking professional development, and ensuring adherence to government policies.
The launch of The TeachersHub is a testament to Cinfores Limited’s dedication to advancing education through technology. By providing teachers with access to cutting-edge tools and fostering collaboration between educators, policymakers, and administrators, this platform is set to transform the education sector in Rivers State and beyond.
